NANCY OLIND

Nancy’s wide range of professional experience in both the law and general employment practices give her a unique perspective when advising and representing municipal clients. During her 30 years as a professional, Nancy has worked predominantly in the public sector for local municipalities. Nancy’s experience serving as a government employee and leader provides her with enhanced labor and employee relations experience as a result of working on both sides of the table. Nancy’s work history includes a wealth of experience advising leaders on best employment practices, including labor relations, employee relations, discrimination and harassment, strategic planning, conflict management and mediation, training, and development, executive coaching, employee engagement, and performance management.

Ms. Olind served as the Director of Organizational Effectiveness for Wayne County, where she worked for more than sixteen years in various roles, departments, and elected offices. While working at the County, Nancy was awarded several Outstanding Employee Awards and was instrumental in earning awards, grants, and accolades for Wayne County. Nancy later served as the Assistant Human Resources Director and Chief of Labor for the City of Cincinnati. There, Nancy led labor and workforce issues, as well as serving the Civil Service Commission. Immediately prior to joining The Kelly Firm, Ms. Olind was a Senior Employee Relations Consultant for the Detroit Medical Center. Nancy’s experience in the public and private sector have provided her with the experience and resources to effectively partner with her clients to resolve employment concerns.

Ms. Olind graduated cum laude from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School and is a licensed member of the State Bar of Michigan. She also holds a Master’s Degree in Organizational Management from Spring Arbor University, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Communications that she earned at Eastern Michigan University.
